AUGUST 2012 - IMAGE LIBRARY
The Society was successful in receiving a grant from the IMB Community Foundation to purchase software to allow us to upload our photographic collection to the internet. Our nationally-significant collection of photos from the German Internment Camp at Berrima will be online during September, along with many other images from our collection. The entire collection of more than 8,000 images will gradually come online over the next few months.
CELEBRATING 50 YEARS 1960 - 2010
A history of the Berrima District Historical and Family History Society
A book on the history of the Society was launched on 13th October by Dr Lesley Muir, Vice President of the Royal Australian Historical Society. Copies of the history are available at the archives or can be purchased through our On-Line Bookshop. The cost is $20 plus postage and packing.
2009 IMAGinE Awards
The Prisoners in Arcady exhibition at our museum, based on Dr John Simons' book, has been recognised with an award in the 2009 IMAGinE Awards, an initiative of Museums & Galleries NSW, Museums Australia (NSW & ACT) and Regional & Public Galleries NSW.
The exhibition won the award in the category Organisation Award for Exhibitions by a volunteer organisation.
