The collection of the Berrima District Museum comprises around three thousand items with new donations continually adding greater depth to the holdings which include:
- One of the most significant stories is that of the World War One internment camp at Berrima Gaol for German mariners. Highlights of this collection include a dugout canoe, carved objects and a banner that illustrate the culture and traditions made by the industrious internees over four years between 1915-1919
- A cell door from Berrima gaol c.1860s
- Costumes and wearing apparel
- A silver wedding cake memento from the 1880s that still contains the cake!
- Recreated rooms reflecting life in a late 19th century country town
- Medical equipment including diaries and surgical equipment belonging to 19th century Berrima general practitioner, Dr George Prowd Lambert and the Iron Lung used at Bowral Hospital to treat polio sufferers
