Berrima District Museum, as an integral part of the Berrima District Historical & Family History Society, seeks to collect, preserve, display and interpret the heritage of the Berrima District and the Wingecarribee Shire.


The museum is located in Market Place, Berrima, at the southern end of the village near the bridge over the Wingecarribee River.  

The collection contains objects relating to the history of the Wingecarribee Shire, with regularly changing exhibitions.

The museum is an accessible building and has spacious exhibition areas. It is climate controlled for year-round comfort.

Recent Awards:

  • 2008  Southern Highlands Business Award for Excellence in an Attraction
  • 2009 iMAGine (inspiring museums and galleries in excellence) Award. This NSW/ACT award was for our Prisoners in Arcady exhibition, the story of German internees in Berrima during World War I
